Studio Policy

Registration & Lesson Terms

Dream Music Studio follows a semester-based lesson calendar.

Because holiday closures fall on different weekdays, the exact number of lessons in a semester varies slightly depending on which day of the week your lesson is scheduled. Your confirmed lesson count is set when you register.

Students register for a full semester package. Tuition is calculated by semester and divided into monthly payments for convenience. Monthly payments are not pay-per-lesson or month-to-month registration.

Tuition & Payment

Tuition is paid on the 5th of each month by e-transfer.

Families may also choose to pay the full semester tuition in advance. When the full semester is paid up front, the $40 annual registration and recital fee is waived.

Late or missed payments may result in the lesson spot being released.

Annual Registration & Recital Fee

A $40 annual registration and recital fee per family is due at registration. It covers studio registration, recital organization, programs, certificates, venue-related costs, and administration.

The fee is waived for families who pay a full semester up front. Once paid, it is non-refundable.

Studio Closures

There are no regular lessons during major holiday closures, including Thanksgiving, Winter/Christmas Break, Family Day, March Break, Easter Weekend, and Victoria Day.

Holiday closures are already built into the semester lesson package.

Attendance & Make-Up Lessons

Students are expected to attend lessons regularly at their scheduled weekly time.

• At least 24 hours' notice is required for a missed lesson to be eligible for a make-up lesson.
• Make-up lessons are subject to teacher availability.
• Full-year students may receive up to 3 make-up lessons per school year.
• Students who begin after January may receive up to 2 make-up lessons.
• Missed lessons are not refundable.

Withdrawal Policy

To withdraw from lessons, families must give 30 days' written notice by email or text.

• The current month's tuition is non-refundable once the month has started.
• If a family withdraws without 30 days' notice, one final monthly payment is still required, as the lesson time has been reserved.
• Unused lessons, make-up lessons, registration fees, and recital fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another semester.

Recitals

Dream Music Studio holds two recitals per school year. Recital participation is strongly encouraged, as performing helps students build confidence, motivation, and a sense of achievement.

Recitals are part of the learning experience and are not considered the end of lessons. Regular lessons continue after recitals for feedback, new goals, and continued progress.

Books, Materials & Extra Events

Students are responsible for purchasing their own books and materials.

RCM exam fees, competition fees, festival fees, books, theory materials, and accompaniment fees are separate from regular tuition.

Sickness Policy

Please do not attend in-person lessons if the student has a fever, vomiting, contagious illness, or symptoms that may affect other families. When possible, an online lesson may be offered instead.

Photo & Video Permission

Dream Music Studio may occasionally take photos or short videos during recitals, studio classes, or special events. Parents who do not wish their child's photo or video to be used publicly may inform the studio in writing.
